GETTING

AROUND

The Lay of the Land

Like the hiking and ski trails on Lone Mountain, Big Sky is easy to navigate, with color-coded wayfinding signs that point visitors in the right direction, and town maps that are available in businesses throughout the area. As you drive into Big Sky on Highway 191, these signs welcome you to the north and south. Looking for a hotel, restaurant, guest ranch, or another business in the Gallatin Canyon? Follow the BLUE squares.

Heading west, towards Lone Mountain on Highway 64, you will enter Big Sky’s Meadow Village, marked by the GREEN circles. This area is comprised of the Meadow Village Center, the Town Center, and Westfork commercial areas, also with a number of accommodations, restaurants, and shops. This is where many work, live, and play, with the Big Sky Community Park and Center Stage as highlights.

Drive another seven miles up Highway 64, and you will enter Big Sky’s Mountain Village, home to Big Sky Resort, Moonlight Basin, and a number of other businesses, marked by the BLACK diamonds.

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION

Here are some other ways to get around town:

The Canyon-Mountain loop includes a variety of stops throughout Big Sky, from the Gallatin Canyon hotels and restaurants to the Mountain Village and Moonlight Basin and all that’s in between. There is no cost to ride the Skyline Bus. View the ROUTES & SCHEDULES. Hop on Skyline’s LINK EXPRESS for easy and reliable transportation from Bozeman to Big Sky and back again. Pick-ups are at various locations around the Bozeman and Big Sky areas.
