As requested by the Visit Big Sky board of directors, the Big Sky Convention & Visitor Bureau has issued this Request for Proposal (RFP) with the intent of obtaining proposals from interested and qualified agencies in accordance with the terms below. Many people have been wondering what’s going on with the Challenger Lift at Big Sky Resort this season. Unfortunately, the aging chairlift is down for the rest of the 2015/2016 season – but there’s always a bright side. Timber Clearing in Gallatin Canyon Will Lead to Traffic Delays

BUTTE, Mont. – February 27, 2014 – Continued timber clearing in the Gallatin Canyon could lead to traffic delays on U.S. Highway 191 the week of March 3-7 and temporary access restrictions the week of March 11-13. The timber clearing is part of a significant transmission upgrade being undertaken by NorthWestern Energy. The timber clearing and removal work beginning March 3 will take place on National Forest System land south of Portal Creek between mile markers 52 and 54.
